Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have announced that their soundtrack for HBO’s newWatchmenseries will be released as a series of three vinyl-only albums. AsStereogum points out, the records will feature the series’ score, as well as exclusive artwork that “explores the culture ofWatchmenAmerica and provides revealing insights into the saga’s mythology and mysteries.” The covers and titles of the albums have yet to be announced; the first album will be led by a track called "How The Rest Was Really Won," and is set to be released on November 4th. The other two albums will follow in late-November and mid-December.Pre-order the set here.

Reznor and Ross have been prolific of late, composing scores forJonah Hill’smid90s, Susanne Bier’sBird Box, Trey Edward Shults’Wavesand more in the past couple of years. Earlier this year, an episode of Netflix’sBlack Mirrorused a Nine Inch Nails track as the basis for a dystopic pop song, confirming the fact thatNIN are pop music’s elder statesmen.
